I forgot how great it feels to laugh until your stomach hurts. That joyful pain in your cheeks mixed with all the peeps and pipes of eveyrone's cackles. It was never where we were going, it was the ride there.
Hey I heard you were a wild one :)
But every once in a while, when we would go all quiet, absorbed in our own little hemispheres, my thoughts went back to the same. I'd smile and remember and smile some more. Because when the weather's really nice or an awesome song comes on or when I have time to think or when I see an amazing sunset or when I get goosebumps he's there with me. I know he'd be leaning against a wall, his elbows propped up, eyes still and focused on what's ahead. He'd have his steady breaths and I'd be beside him, still catching mine from the last laugh, loose and silly. I'd casually lean my head on his flannel shoulder and then I'd snap back.
To more laughs and singing way too loudly and bright beaming buildings all around me.
"...I see the sun and it’s rising slowly
For every shadow there is a light
Open your eyes I will come running
open up to me open up to me
I will always be your resting hour
Give it all to me give it all to me
Maybe I can be your resting hour
Your resting hour yeah..."
